Fashion Impression: Ghent

28 Aug

If you think of fashion cities, Ghent is not one of the first to come to mind. However, this belgian city is climbing up the fashion ladder and developing to a trendy, up-to-date city.

While walking through the narrow, cosy street and hearing the romantic French, a bit of a Parisian vibe comes over you. For a quick bite, walk in to one of the many boulangeries for a delicious croissant. Have a walk through the Meerseniers street, which is full of promising, new, belgian designers and functions as a real inspiration.

Besides the smaller vintage stores which you can find plenty of in the many side streets, Ghent is also full of designer and haute couture stores. One of the biggest ones being Stoffen Janssens, which sells the most notorious fabrics of Belgium.

For the design fans amongst us, a visit to the Design Museum Gent is an absolute must. With different exhibitions every month you’ll never get bothered and there is enough to look at.

Definitely worth a visit! (also because of the delicious belgian waffles…)
